Boredom is an important barrier you need to break through in order to get to creative flow
Powering through discomfort is important.
No pain no gain is unfortunately a very valuable lesson.
Story is important to existence. Narrative. Sequence. Unfortunately, since most true information is obscured from us, so we develop low resolution mental models of reality based on our own experiences and the stories we hear from others. We then use these models to predict possible outcomes of our actions and we act based on that model. The problem is that these models are really poor and they can be intentionally fucked with by people and institutions who do not have your best interests in mind. Telling stories/propaganda gives you false models that make you act in predictable and ways that are desirable to those in power. The less you've experienced of the world and the less you've educated yourself the easier you are to manipulate using other people's stories. But you do have to utilize critical thinking at every step of your education to ensure that you are not assimilating manipulative narratives.
Organized religion and cults are the most powerful use of this manipulation. It uses powerful symbology and archetypes and metaphysical promises and threats to bypass the critical faculties entirely. They use the tools of not only propaganda but also hypnosis.
You can intentionally use these tools on yourself to help control your own behavior. Self-hypnosis, self-designed ritual, self-mythology. These should be used in tandem with the same sort of conditioning you would use to train an animal or a child. These are the scientific assumptions on which Chaos Magick functions.
And they work best when you study what has worked for others and then re-mix them to be specific to you.
Intention is important here. Figure out what your goals are. Envision your ideal magician self and what your magic processes are and how those manifest in your life. What the goal here is to create a sort of imagination Augmented Reality overlay over your whole life, which embues everything you experience and everything you do with life and meaning. And a version of that that you yourself design and control, as opposed to organized religion which offers a pre-fab verison of that which turns you into the person they want you to be instead of who you want to be.
Note: institutions such as public school, organized religion, and the police and court systems exist to impose the values that the rich want the poor to have onto the poor. Not necessarily the values they want for themselves or their family, but on the masses because they fear them demanding true equity on our society. And money. Damn. That's the biggest of these institutions. That's be basic idea all of this separation between masses and elite is based on. And it is also a complete lie and false narrative and can be rejected at any moment.
So if you want the tools of story and ritual and discipline to work for you have to work against their programming and put in the work to educate and program yourself.
Is it possible to create your own currency? You'd need some kind of authority to do so.
For my purposes, I could print and send out my own fictional dollars as trade-able, redeemable pieces of art that can be redeemed for art or exclusive art/writing projects or rare items. Sorta like camel bucks. That way I'm trading in my own currency and not the currency of the land. But ultimately it means nothing if it's still based on the American Dollar. It would have to be larger than me and be based on equality and community instead of on individual power and government hegemony.
Within a limited community you create a currency that is renewed each year, and you decide as a community how much each person gets or if it's all equal. And you trade among each other. Offer your voice acting services for more currency to pay a sound editor. etc. It's a way of bartering services within a creative community that doesn't have much money in order to get the work done. Of course, if there is income from the show you should also pay those who work for you in real money because everyone needs to eat. So really, these fake bucks would only be worthwhile to creators of shows. because these fake dollars would be worthless to people who can't redeem them for work on their own shows.
Audio Fiction Work Hours.
Obviously this whole system can be replaced by real dollars for anyone with a profitable show, but the benefit is we can mint them ourselves and make rules about renewing them and try to make up for inequalities with them by making up our own rules.
Creator Hours
Can expand to visual and musical artists as well. Basically anyone who values them can accept them but the only people who would accept them would be artists.
I'd say a good way to estimate how many CH to distribute wold be to consider that most creators who need them are already working full time jobs and so the maximum number of hours they would be able to contribute would be 20 per week per creator and going beyond that would create situations where we're over-extended trying to honor our CH's. Another way to do that would be to use it mainly within a collective scenario and the collective decides the CH budget for each proposed show. Again, if that collective actually has money coming in then they can just use that instead.
You can also pay people for the rights to ideas this way. Buy a good idea off someone in exchange for help on their show. Or creative or economic consultation.
The purpose of this would be to give help to shows and creators just starting out and not making a profit yet. A collective treasurer keeps track of transactions in a spreadsheet and via a channel on social media. ".75 CH given from person x to person y for __ services already rendered or to be rendered by date _. Approved by person y.
In the end this may be more trouble than it's worth and lead to conflicts.
Simple contracts could do the same and would be between individual creators.
